"NEW VIBES" is the singularly
appropriate title for the upcoming Padulo Longstreth Goldberg ART
exhibition, to run from February 21st through March 22nd. Fresh
and dynamic paintings and sculpture from five of the gallery's most
popular artists will be featured, including Mark Chatterley, Slade,
Henry Richardson, Thom Thomas, and Lee L'Clerc.
|
 |
This show's featured sculptor, MARK
CHATTERLEY, is a former university professor whose sculptures are
garnering international attention. His haunting but instantly
recognizable "Pompeii-like" crater glazed ceramic and bronze
sculptures have been featured in SCULPTURE and CERAMICS magazines, as
well as AMERICAN STYLE and ART NEWS. This exhibition will showcase
several new large works, including a "human" pyramid, twelve
foot tall cyclists, flying and wall mounted figures. Chatterley
has also created several small sculptures for this show that are equally
provocative. |

HENRY
RICHARDSON, heralded as a
"Magician With Glass," has garnered every accolade imaginable
in all the prestigious American shows of glass art. "Tikkun," all five thousand pounds of its
fractured-glass-six-foot-in-circumference-stately-
presence, mesmerizes the eye and stirs the
soul. |

SLADE, whose last show was positively
reviewed in ART NEWS, continues to display her amazing drawing and
painting skills in these newest paintings, which appear to be elaborate
embellishments upon previous metaphysical explorations. A
monumental triptych, "DISPARATES" will be featured. |
|
|
|
| THOM
THOMAS, the newest addition to the
gallery's stable of artists, is a painter who asks, "Why Not?"
as he continues his explorations into the creation of a body of work
which is becoming increasingly sculptural and dimensional in its
focus. His incredibly complex paintings involve myriad patterns
and primitive forms, and are attracting considerable attention in the
gallery. |

LEE L'CLERC continues his love of story
telling through painting, the never-ending correspondence between words and
images. With a constantly innovative but subtle palette, L'Clerc
has produced wonderfully provocative new paintings which speak to the
interrelations between the contemporary and the classical works. |
