Always innovative and provocative, now, in conjunction with the esteemed Ernst Hilger Gallery of Vienna, Austria five highly successful European artists are featured in the daunting and daring season’s opening show, EURO CONNECTIONS, at the Padulo Longstreth Goldberg Taylor Road Gallery, Naples, Florida.

The ultimate location for those who seek the most cutting edge in emerging art, PLG Art is delighted to bring Naples the premiere showing of five provocative European artists:  Sasa Makarova, Angel Marcos, Nikolaus Moser, George Pusenkoff and Sebastian Weissenbacher.  Each artist brings a new approach to the canvas, each arresting and memorable.

When you meet and talk with Sasa Makarova, you know that her colorful paintings can only be the way they are, bright, electrifying and bursting with energy.  Having traveled extensively through India, Tibet and China her transplanted expressions are universal.  She believes that "... a painting is only good if you can turn it on its side, or upside down and it still works."

Angel Marcos is an artist who has taken the fullest advantage of recent explosions in photographic techniques to create an art form of highly specialized and remarkably satisfying dimensions.  The consolidation of the photographic medium as the support or artistic creation, beyond its historical seclusion with the framework or specific profession -- that of a photographer -- is something that has taken place over the past two decades.

The juxtaposing of otherwise totally incongruent themes, people and/or places, is paramount to this ingenious master of the lens.  His works reflect the ultimate man ...Citizen of the Planet.

Nikolaus Moser, a young German artist lauded for his brash and brazen use of color, sometimes almost variations of one single color, with astonishingly vibrant variance of shading, again with a multitude of colors which happily vie for attention on their canvases.  His works force the eye to concentrate, to search out meaning.  Each painting is fresh.  Each painting is exciting.  Each painting is memorable.

George Pusenkoff has created a series of paintings, each numbered differently but entitled alike, e.g., "Breakfast On the Grass #5."  There is also a series, "Windows 99" and an "I was In the Museum ‘Ludwig’" series, again each painting with a different location.  Shown with acclaim in several major European venues, his emotional content is remarkable, his images unforgettable.

Sebastian Weissenbacher has piquancy in his palette which is delightfully charming.  His figures are unforgettable and his use of color has rendered his paintings much sought after in certain European intellectual circles.  Though he has not before been seen in America, his subject matter is easily universal and his quirky sense of humor obviously spontaneous.

The distinguished Swiss Sculptor, Heinz Aeschlimann, will also be present with his newest monumental, awe-inspiring creations.

An artists reception will be from 2 until 6 pm, Sunday afternoon, December 1st. Mr. Hilger will be present to discuss the works of the featured artists and share his involvements with the current evolving art scene in Europe.
