Another venue that will doubtless become a major player in the Naples scene is Longstreth Goldberg, which opens this month. The gallery will be housed in a massively spectacular, 5,000-square-foot warehouse space with soaring ceilings. This will be a unique site in the area and will provide an opportunity to view important large-scale paintings and sculptures in museum-like comfort. "The new environment is designed to create an awesome space replete with innovation and intriguing surprises," says principal Greg Padulo. Part of the excitement this space generates is due to the mix of experience and daring brought by the three dealers who came together to open it. Peg Goldberg and Joe Longstreth can boast a combined 25 years of experience, while Padulo brings the vision and drive of a younger generation. Aside from exhibitions drawn from its eclectic roster of almost 25 artists, the space will host experimental drama performances, lectures and readings, and small musical soirées.
