Angelika Kade, born and raised in Germany, early on discovered she was passionate about art. Before focusing on sculpture, she began working as a fashion designer, then designed jewelry. Painting, both on silk and large canvases, was her next step in satisfying her creative urges.
Then she discovered sculpting. She was hooked. As the artist says: "Sculpting has become both an obsession and a passion for me." After attending several workshops in the United States and in Pietrosanta, Italy, where she worked with highly skilled master carvers, Kade's search for "perfection" continued through rigorous self-education in all carving techniques.
Working in various materials, but mainly in alabaster and marble, her work is based on figurative elements. In the creative process the work may remain figurative or may develop into figurative- based abstracts.
A member of the National Sculpture Society and the National Association of Woman Artists, she has exhibited extensively in Europe and in the United States, and is in a number of private as well as corporate collections.
